The idea behind SwitchGlo started in 2006 when long time 3D Helicopter enthusiast Russell Trubia wanted to create a simple glow plug igniter you can toggle on and off from your transmitter without any additional batteries required to glow the plug. Russell solicited the support of his extended family's electronic engineering firm; Zdatum Corporation to help develop SwitchGlo from the ground up.

Russell's requirements were that it: work on power from the onboard battery, have low power consumption, create no interference with other components on the craft, and most of all, be as small and light as possible!

These simply stated requirements proved to be an engineering challenge for Zdatum, one that would utilize new low power technologies, programmable integrated circuits and custom written software code. The result is an extremely efficient glow plug igniter with nearly undetectable voltage drop from your onboard battery. With Russell's vision and Zdatum's years of electronic engineering experience, we were able to design this revolutionary glow plug igniter like no other!

SwitchGlo is designed, produced, and sold by Zdatum Corporation a Printed Circuit Board Service Bureau providing engineering services.  Zdatum provides electronic design, fabrication, and assembly services as well as mechanical design, fabrication and 2 & 3D drafting services for a wide range of industries including Aerospace, Medical,  & Communication. Some of our customers include Northrop Grumman, L3 Communications, ITT Gilfillan, St. Jude Medical, & Broadcom Corporation.
